Golf on the Costa Blanca, Spain
There are many golf courses in the Alicante-Murcia region, because the Costa Blanca in Spain enjoys over 320+ days of sunshine a year, this sport is a golfer’s delight where one can play all year round. Vistabella Golf
Vistabella golf course is located in Entre Naranjos, near Orihuela. This course was designed by Manuel Piñero, former European Tour player and World Cup, Dunhill Cup and Ryder Cup representative for Spain on numerous occasions. The Course is a 73 par and nearly 6,000 meters long. It has been designed along the lines of all modern courses with a range of tees to suit all levels of players, broad fairways and challenging bunkers and greens.
Las Colinas Golf and Country Club
Las Colinas Golf is located in Campoamor, to the south of Alicante, and was designed by the renowned North American landscape architect, Cabell B. Robinson, the designer of internationally recognized golf courses such as La Reserva in Sotogrande, Finca Cortesín on the Costa del Sol, Praia d´El Rey in Portugal and Royal Golf d´Evian in France. Las Colinas Golf course is an 18 hole, par 71 and 6033 in length.
The golf course extends across the valley between the hills, adapts to the unusual lie of the land and blends naturally into the landscape. The width of its fairways, the design of its extensive undulating greens, and the numerous tees at each hole give it great versatility and mean that it is suitable for professional competitions, while also offering any player a pleasant, enjoyable and affordable game.
Villamartin Golf
The course was designed by a Paul Putman and opened in 1972. Villamartin is located on the Orihuela Costa, Alicante, and is a good test for all skill levels to enjoy. Many important tournaments for pros and amateurs have been held at Villamartin in the past. Villamartin has a par of 72 with 4 par five holes all over 500 yards long and 4 par three holes.
Alenda Golf
The course was designed by Roland Favrat and opened in October 1999. Alenda is situated in the mountains behind the city of Elche. Alenda Golf course is an 18 hole, par 72 and measures 6,257 metres on a mountain course overlooking the sea. The first 9 holes are wide and lined by trees. The last 9 holes require skill and precision in both long drives and putts. Alenda golf course is an entertaining course for golfers of any level.
Alicante Golf
The course was designed by the legendary Spanish player Severiano Ballesteros and opened in 1998. Alicante Golf is located on the outskirts of Alicante City next to San Juan beach. Alicante Golf has a par of 72 that includes 6 par three holes, 6 par four holes and 6 par five holes, incorporating lakes and artificial rivers along the course offering a good challenge for golfers of any level.
Campoamor Golf
This course opened in 1988 and was designed by Carmelo Gracias Carselles. Campoamor is located on the Orhiuela Costa. The course is a par 72 and 6346 metres in length. There are 5 par five holes all over 490 metres.
La Finca
The course was opened in August of 2001 and was designed by Don Jose Gancedo. La Finca is located in Algorfa, and hosts top amateur and professional tournaments and is a favourite of many golfers who come to this area. The course has a variety of generous fairways and spectacular greens to test golfers of all levels.
Font Del Llop
The course was designed by Blake Stirling and Marco Martín, and offers the player a playing area of international size that has five exit tees for each hole – with each green having its own personality. Situated in the heart of the Alicante province, it is located only a few minutes away from the international airport of El Altet. The 18-hole golf course, of American design and Scottish layout offers a challenge for all kinds of players.
La Marquesa Golf
La Marquesa Golf is located in Ciudad Quesada, near Rojales (Alicante). La Marquesa Golf course was designed by Justo Quesada Samper in 1989. This is an uncomplicated, fairly flat course that will appeal to many golfers of all levels. The 18-hole course is a par 72 and 5799 meters in length.
Las Ramblas Golf Course
Las Ramblas (a Rambla is a dry riverbed that carries water when it rains) golf course opened in 1991, and is located on the Orihuela Costa. The 18-hole golf course was created by the famous designer Pepe Gancedo, who masterfully built the course into a beautiful landscape of Mediterranean pines and natural ravines. Furthermore, Las Ramblas Golf offers magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea from many locations.
Lo Romero Golf
Lo Romero Golf is a resort of over 1,25 million square meters including an 18-hole, par 72 golf course, with a Club House and the driving range sports and leisure areas, hotel and shopping centre. Located in Pilar de la Horadada, Alicante, Lo Romero Golf is a very special 18-hole course. Its varied and meticulous design adjusted to the gentle relief and Mediterranean vegetation makes it a nice round to play on this course and the ideal place to practice this sport.
