La Siesta, San Luis & El Chaparral, Torrevieja from our head office

La Siesta, San Luis & El Chaparral, Torrevieja from our head office
27 Nov 2020

Close to our head office we have several urbanisations that are often overlooked.

Urbanisations can often conjure up the wrong impression; these have wide roads, often tree lined with communal parks dotted around.

The urbanisations on the North side of the CV-905 in particular are El Chaparral, La Siesta & San Luis. There is only access to these from 2 roundabouts situated on the CV-905. This means that the amount of traffic is minimum, as traffic is only on the estate to be on the estate, not as a cut through to somewhere else.

The top of the estate is flanked by the “Parque natural de La Mata”, a large nature reserve surrounding one of Torrevieja´s two salt lakes. This is home to thousands of different species of flora, fauna, birds and other wildlife- it´s ideal for either walking, cycling or running. Wine is also made from grapes from within the park, and there are bird watching stations and picnic areas. You can walk through the park to the golden beaches of La Mata on the Costa Blanca in around 40 minutes.

Back to the urbanisations, set within the wide roads you have a plethora of commercial centres, offering all sorts of bars and shops etc. There is a bank, bakery, petrol station, Pharmacy, our head office, veterinary practice, public health centre, private health centre. 2 Churches, an aquapark, a communal area for Age Concern, 5 shops/ mini markets, hairdressers, and a German bakery.

As for restaurants, you are spoiled for choice: 3 Chinese restaurants, 3 Indian restaurants, A Belgian restaurant, 2 Italian restaurants, 4 English restaurants and a Scandinavian restaurant. There is also a Belgian takeaway and an English fish and chip shop.

San Luis extends over the CV-905 into what is referred to as “San Luis Lakeside”- here there is a large Mercadonna supermarket, English Butchers, Garden Centre and a Christmas Shop, among other shops and suppliers- and the properties all lead down to the Pink Salt Lake- Las Salinas de Torrevieja.

With regards housing, prices can start from less than 30.000€ for a studio apartment, going upto villas in excess of 700.000€

There are bungalows and townhouses that are back to back, but have pedestrianised streets between them; upper and lower bungalows with communal pools, a gated complex of apartments and townhouses with communal areas that back onto the nature reserve, with its own gated access.

Villas on the urbanisations are either detached or semi detached, with plots upto 2000m2.

The whole area is serviced by buses, regularly going around the urbanisations and/ or into the Cosmopolitan town of Torrevieja. This – and the golden beaches of the Southern Costa Blanca are a mere 10 minutes drive from the Urbanisations, and the main CV-905 goes from Torrevieja to the AP7 motorway, and Alicante – Elche airport is possible in 35 minutes.

The whole are lends itself to a mixture of permanent living and holiday properties, and are thriving during the typical summer, but are also still “open” in the winter, due to the number of people living here- of ALL nationalities.
